Exploding cookers - Full moon at 23 degrees 59 mins Cancer on 13th January at 10:27 pm GMT

Cardinal, Water, Feminine, Ying.

The 'mother' in all of us is represented by the crab. She cares, emotionally-bonds, protects and nurtures. She cooks, cuddles, ensures we have warm blankets and a full belly. Her vulnerability is her strength; responding to life's wayward experiences with the full spectrum of emotions (passion to grief). Her naturally fluid and intuitive nature gives her a special connection with her family.

The influence of this full moon is likely to be felt deep in the belly. Any 'held' emotions will make themselves known by bursting forth. Things unsaid or undone that have touched our most private 'inner' world will feel like food poisoning. We have an uncanny ability to shelter emotions into a fester state, than release them. Why? Dad told us crying was weak. Shit things happen and all the tears in the world didn't change it. In release we 'feel' pain. We admit that we have been possessed by care and love and memories - things we are told to remove from our minds, hearts and souls.

Cancer requires absolute safety to express its inner needs and feelings. It needs coaxing, kindness and sensitivity. It needs touch and tenderness and holding. Like that unconditional and instant care a mother gives her new born.

The shadow side of Cancer

If only we could shake off our emotions and the need to bond with family/make someone our family. If only we could turn off the tap of sadness, the guilt for past mistakes, the loss of not telling someone how we really feel. The heartache of feels unrequited. That hard shell is a troublesome shield, protecting a soft underbelly. So much so, that it can hinder that bonding need. Limit building safety with others.

Cancer isn't loud like Leo, unapologetic like Sag or direct like Aries. It doesn't prod and dissect like Virgo or power-up after a fight like Scorpio. Cancer hides. It holds. It disappears into it's shell and it weeps internally. It wallows in moodiness, casting passive-aggressive glances and comments. So the air is never clear.

Mars RX conjunction at 27 degrees Cancer

….which is why this pressure cooker is ripe for an explosion. And what says 'bang' as rudely as Mars. That isn't a question.

There is a sizzling deliciousness to this combo. It's also a baby maker combo but shhh. Mars is retrograde - it's going back over the instincts unfollowed, the desires it hushed. The 'will' will be infused with emotional intensity.

On the sexy front, expect a stronger emotional vibe. Plenty of touch, stroking, massages, cuddles and cooking.

Sun at 23 degrees Capricorn

The Capricorn-Cancer axis draws our attention to professional life and personal life. Our outer self and inner self. The authoritative 'Father' and the emotive 'Mother. It's gender roles, work-life balance, conforming to society conditioning and being true to our unique inner needs.

How can you balance these roles within your life?

Are you giving 'more' to either one and feeling a lack in the other?

The full moon asks us to be in tune with our emotions and to express them without judgement. Mars energy can really fuel whatever it touches with passion, action and desire - so it's important to be mindful of any building pressure. Conjunctions will fuse two energies together, so our fighting instinct will be more emotional too. This is fierce protector vibes.

Sextile Uranus in Taurus

An easy aspect to Uranus allows for changes outside our comfort zones to occur with

some grace and ease. Liberation and openness can be relieving, even if unplanned and somewhat surprising.

What else is happening

Saturn in Pisces conjunct Venus in Pisces

Venus and Saturn conjunctions can show a relationship commitment, money troubles

and/or a time of low self-love. Pisces rules the unconditional and spiritual, the unknown and the unseen. Contrasting with Saturn's reality and concreteness.

We could lose parts of ourselves (figuratively) or allow them to fade away. Relationships can float in or float out. The narrative could switch to acceptance.

Ask yourself

  • To be honest about what fulfils you emotionally.

  • To consider your work-life balance and make adjustments.

  • To 'safely' explode and clear that tension.
