Scorpio, fixed, water, yin, inwards
The weightiness of the last few months is set to continue with a new moon
in the death and rebirth sign of Scorpio (20 degrees, 43 minutes). If you have been feeling yourself reassess your inner self and your life, then this new moon could seed a new you.
After the full moon in Taurus (opposite Scorpio) on October 28th, this Scorpio
new moon begins a new cycle. At the full moon there was a culmination or completion.
Taurus is possessive and physical. Scorpio is spiritual and asks that: what is held, is allowed to die. So this new moon in Scorpio beckons in a new phase of regeneration and rebirth.
You have been forced to let go. Are you ready for what's next?
Scorpio rules all the unseen secret places. Our psyche, our emotions and all the stuff we
repress because its dark, dirty and shameful, erotic, soulful and magnetic. As king of
the underworld, Scorpio is a force of controlled cooker-like intensity. It broods, it
hides, it invites, it captures.
The energy of Scorpio is death-rebirth. A part of your life goes through an extreme
intensity and then it dies. And Scorpio death is permanent. The edginess is emotional and psychological with plenty of power games and control. The process is usually extreme and gut-wrenching. Could be a relationship ending, a house taken away, a death death of a close, the end of a career. With Scorpio, it's a long road to the end. Unspeakable things may happen. Nobody knows what they are because you've kept them a secret. Could be an affair, martial rape, jealousy and possessiveness, a shameful obsession like pornography or stalking, criminal activities. At the positive end it could be psychotherapy that leads to a breakthrough, a soul connection and deep love. A spiritual openness and intimate connection via tantra or kundalini. Whatever is happening, you will be altered forever.
Note that Scorpio, as a fixed sign, finds change uncomfortable and this new moon will impact all fixed placements within 17 - 23 degrees.

Ruler Pluto in Capricorn / Mars in Scorpio
Scorpio has a modern ruler (Pluto) and an ancient ruler (Mars).
Pluto is currently in Capricorn at 28 degrees and due to embark once again at the 29th
aneretic degree (full throttle Cap energy), so a big theme is power and control.
Does someone or something have control over you?
Are you losing or gaining control?
Is control pointless and can you move towards a let go state to allow the transformation to take place?
Mars is currently at 22 degrees Scorpio and conjunct this new moon.
As the martian represents our desire to freely initiate the new impulse, and as it isn't
in a hard aspect to any transiting planets, my feeling is this will be a welcome combo.
Mars likes to break new ground and in Scorpio, will be more willing to explore emanating
desires. Call it a forceful kick that energises that brave new step.
What else is happening
Conjunct Ceres in Scorpio
Along with Mars, this new moon is conjunct Ceres at 24 degrees.
Ceres is much like Cancer. It's how we nurture, mother and soothe. It's themes are
fertility, motherhood, self-care and the cycles of loss and recapturing. Considering
the traumatic changes brought forth by Scorpio, Ceres acts as a 'mother', gently
soothing the pain of rebirth and softening the harshness.
Ask yourself
Where is death and rebirth a theme?
Have you finally killed what has been a toxic entitity in your life?
Is it time to take a step forward into the unknown and bravely start over?
Some things to consider
Take a look at where the fixed signs are in your chart, around 17 - 23 of Scorpio (conjunction),
